RE is an important curriculum subject. It is important in its own right and also makes a unique contribution to the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils and supports wider community cohesion. The Government is keen to ensure all pupils receive high-quality RE.(DFE Non-Statutory Guidance)
Key Stage 3
Skills being Developed
Develop a greater understanding of themselves and others.
Develop how they express their own views, feelings and opinions.
Understand and express their ideas towards their own place in the world.
Further develop their appreciation of difference and diversity and the effects of intolerance.
A greater appreciation of different ideas and views, towards national and global issues.
Key Stage 4
All students at KS 4 study the short course Edexcel GCSE RE, Religion and Life. It tries to familiarise the students with some of the major issues they may have to consider in life.
