Pastoral Care Year 10 & 11

Mr Phil Ward

Year 10 Overview

Options have been taken and now it’s time to start working towards the GCSE examinations. In Year 10 students will start preparing and writing controlled assessments, revising and sitting mock examinations in order to make the best possible start to their GCSE courses. The students are now in the upper school stages of their Testwood lives and other opportunities will be placed in front of them, if taken, all will help the development of the individual. There will be sports captains, young ambassadors, Rock Challenge leaders and most notably the chance to apply to become prefects, senior prefects and Head Boy and Head Girl.

‘Focus, work hard, your GCSEs now start.’

Year 11 Overview

The journey through Year 11 is quite a challenging one, the pressures of controlled assessments, revision sessions and the final exanimations combined with social demands play a large part in all students lives. Year 11 is the final push. This year will play a key part in moulding the future of our students; the development of individuals socially and morally as well as working with the school and parents to maximise all potential, will result in fully prepared students to sit their GCSE examinations. Coinciding with this journey, the school will support every child in planning for their post-16 career paths with all local colleges and businesses.

‘This is the year that can make the difference to your future.’
